Fast And Furious Rollercoaster Coming To Universal Studios

Universal Studios Hollywood has announced the start of construction on a new roller coaster based on Universal Pictures’ Fast & Furious film franchise. The opening timeframe for this new attraction has not been announced yet.

According to a release, the new ride will feature “technological achievements never previously employed.” The Resort also stated that “the new roller coaster will be equipped with a state-of-the-art ride system uniquely created to engulf guests within the dynamic Fast & Furious universe.”

Universal Studios Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood are already home to a theme park ride based on the franchise, an attraction called Fast & Furious: Supercharged. The ride takes passengers on an adrenaline-fueled shase through the streets of a city as Dom and his family battle Owen Shaw (Luke Evans), the villain of Fast & Furious 6. At Universal Studios Hollywood, the attraction serves as the grand finale of the studio tour ride.

The Fast & Furious franchise has enjoyed a strong and enduring appeal for more than two decades, achieving significant financial success with a box office revenue surpassing $7 billion. The films hold the distinction of being Universal Pictures’ most profitable and longest-running series.

In May, franchise star Vin Diesel said at Fast X’s red carpet event in Rome that Universal wants Fast X to be a trilogy. Fast X is currently streaming on Prime Video, and available on Blu-Ray.

Earlier this year, Universal Studios revealed that a Last of Us-themed haunted house is coming to its theme parks later this year. The haunted house is part of Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights, and it will open at the Orlando park on September 1 and at the Hollywood location on September 7.
