The PS5 has never received an outright discount at major retailers, but that’ll change starting Sunday, August 6. Target’s upcoming weekly ad lists the PS5 for $450, which all but confirms a recent leak that claimed the PlayStation 5 would be available for $50 off at major retailers August 6-19. Though other major retailers haven’t confirmed the existence of the sale (and we don’t have an official end date), it seems very likely you’ll be able to get the PS5 for this price at stores such as Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart.
If you’re interested in this deal, you’ll probably want to act fast when it goes live. Earlier this week, Monoprice offered the PS5 for $450 and sold out pretty quickly.
$450 (was $500)
All previous (official) PS5 deals focused on bundles with games, including the now-expired God of War: Ragnarok $500 bundle deal. Only the standard PS5 with an optical drive will be offered at the $50 discount. It comes with one DualSense controller and all of the cables needs to get up and running.
As mentioned, only Target has announced the deal so far, but we’ve included links to PS5 listings at other major retailers, too, since it’s likely a deal that will be available at every major store where the PS5 is sold.
