Red Dead Redemption Preorders Are Live – Grab The Physical Edition For Nintendo Switch

At long last, 2010’s Red Dead Redemption is saddling up and is ready to explore new platforms later this month. A beloved cowboy sandbox, Red Dead Redemption is headed to Nintendo Switch and PS4 (playable on PS5) on August 17 for $50 in digital format. The new ports come with the zombie-filled standalone expansion Undead Nightmare. Fans of physical media can expect a pressed disc of John Marston’s wild west adventures on October 13. Preorders for the physical edition are starting to go live now.

It’s important to note that these are ports, not remasters. However, there are some new features, including additional languages and Trophy support on PlayStation. Yes, you can finally add that Dastardly trophy to your collection, if you feel like being terrible. Red Dead Redemption’s grisly expansion, Undead Nightmare, is also included in this edition and the entire package has been put together by Double Eleven Studios, a developer with credits on Fallout 76, Minecraft Dungeons, Crackdown 3, and Limbo.

In case you missed it when it first came out, Red Dead Redemption tells the story of former outlaw John Marston as he travels across the US and Mexico during the final days of the wild west to track down the last remaining members of the notorious Van der Linde Gang and keep his family safe. In Undead Nightmare, Marston has to deal with hordes of zombies and a supernatural curse that puts a spooky spin on the western genre.

Red Dead Redemption was a critical and commercial hit for Rockstar Games when it first came out, and in 2018, the game received a sequel on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. If you haven’t played the sequel, you can pick it up for $20 on consoles and $17 on PC right now.
