Jason Momoa is one of the first celebrities to speak out about the Maui Wildfires, and is now urging his fans to stop traveling to Maui for the time being.
The native Hawaiian took to his social media, issuing a statement about those who are still traveling to the island state amid the wildfires that have devastated the land and people.

“Maui is not the place to have your vacation right now. DO NOT TRAVEL TO MAUI,” he wrote in his caption in his latest post.
Jason went on, “Do not convince yourself that your presence is needed on an island that is suffering this deeply.”
“Mahalo to everyone who has donated and shown aloha to the community in this time of need.”
Following his words, Jason then shared three places you can go to get the latest updates, and also support and raise awareness for the people who have been affected the most by the wildfires.
“‘Āina Momona is standing up this fundraiser to support our Maui community. All the funds raised will be given to the Hawaii Community Foundation Maui County Strong Fund https://www.hawaiicommunityfoundation.org/maui-strong to support disaster relief on Maui,” he wrote of one.
