Gal Gadot has shed new light on the next Wonder Woman film, saying she has been told that DC Studios will eventually make it, though it remains to be seen when or in what form. Speaking to Flaunt, Gadot recalled what DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran told her.
“I was invited to a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran and what they told me, and I’m quoting: ‘You’re in the best hands. We’re going to develop Wonder Woman 3 with you. [We] love you as Wonder Woman–you’ve got nothing to worry about.’ So time will tell,” she said.
Back in December 2022, it was announced that a third Wonder Woman movie starring Gadot and directed by Patty Jenkins would no longer be moving forward, as it didn’t mesh with what DC Studios CEOs Gunn and Safran had planned out. But in more recent times, Gadot has said it’s back on.
Gadot said previously, “I love portraying Wonder Woman. It’s so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we’re gonna develop a Wonder Woman 3 together.”
Gadot recently appeared as Wonder Woman in Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash in cameo roles. DC’s newest slate of films kicks off with Superman: Legacy in 2025, featuring David Corenswet.
In addition to the next Wonder Woman movie, Gadot will play Cleopatra in an upcoming film about the queen of Egypt and the evil queen in Disney’s upcoming Snow White film.
