Esteban Ocon has finally revealed his next move in F1!
The 27-year-old French Formula 1 racecar driver revealed earlier this year that was leaving his current team, BWT Alpine F1 Team, at the end of the 2024 season, but had yet to announce if he was signed to another team yet.
“News will be announced in due course,” he said at the time, and now we know that he has joined the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team!

“Very proud to announce I will be joining @haasf1team in 2025 on a multi-year deal,” Esteban shared on Instagram on Thursday (July 25).
“I am thrilled to embark on this new chapter in my F1 career and join an ambitious racing team whose spirit, work ethic, and undeniable upward trajectory has really impressed me. I’d like to thank Gene and Ayao for our honest and fruitful discussions these last few months. Haas F1 Team has big plans and clear targets for the future, and I am looking forward to reuniting with Ayao (my first-ever F1 race engineer!), as well as working with everyone in Kannapolis, Banbury, and Maranello.”
The driver reiterated that his current focus is still with Alpine, saying, “For now, my focus and energy is still fully dedicated to @alpinef1team. We’ve got 11 races to go this year and I am more motivated than ever to end my five-year collaboration with the team on a high.”
Esteban joined Renault in 2020 and continued with team through it’s transition to Alpine in 2021, and has remained with the team since then.
The French driver’s move to Haas comes nearly a month after the team signed F2 driver Oliver Bearman in a multi-year deal. 2025 will feature two new drivers for Haas, as current drivers Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen are both leaving at the end of the season.
Esteban moving to Haas reunites him with Team Principal Ayao Komatsu, who he previously worked with ten years ago in 2014 when he did his first F1 test with Lotus.
“I’m delighted we’ve secured Esteban Ocon’s services for Haas,” Ayao shared in a statement. “I’ve obviously been aware of his talents for a long time and our personal history dates back to Esteban’s maiden run in a Formula 1 car – I was his race engineer that day with Lotus.”
“Esteban’s gone on to become an established talent in Formula 1 and of course a Grand Prix winner. The experience he brings, not just from his own talent base but also from working for a manufacturer team, will be advantageous to us in our growth as an organisation,” he continued. “It was vital we had a driver with experience in beside Oliver Bearman next year, but Esteban’s only 27 – he’s still young with a lot to prove as well. I think we have a hungry, dynamic driver pairing and I look forward to welcoming Esteban into Haas for 2025.”
