Jay Johnston has pleaded guilty on charges related to the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC.
Back in June 2023, the 55-year-old actor, best known for voicing Jimmy Pesto on Bob’s Burgers, was arrested and charged felony obstruction of officers during civil disorder along with some misdemeanor offenses.
On Monday (July 8), Jay pleaded guilty to interfering with the police officers that were trying to protect the Capitol from the mobs of rioters.

Johnston was identified after photos of the rioters during the attack were released online. Documents obtained claim that Johnston made his way through the building in the upper west tunnel and “assisted at least three other rioters by pouring water on the rioters’ faces.” He also reportedly used a stolen U.S. Capitol Police shield.
The step-son of a former Real Housewives star was also recently arrested on charges related to the Jan. 6 riots.
U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols is scheduled to sentence Johnston on Oct. 7, 2024.
