Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre has revealed he has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
The 54-year-old famed Green Bay Packers retired NFL star made the reveal while speaking during a congressional hearing. The hearing was convening to speak about the misallocation of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families funds in Mississippi.

“Sadly, I also lost an investment in a company that I believed was developing a breakthrough concussion drug I thought would help others. And I’m sure you’ll understand why it’s too late for me, because I’ve recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s. This is also a cause dear to my heart,” he shared (via Variety).
His statements were in reference to a drug company called Prevacus. The founder of that company, Jacob VanLandingham, actually admitted he used Mississippi welfare funds to pay his debts and subsequently, ended up pleading guilty to wire fraud.
Parkinson’s Disease is a neurodegenerative disorder that gets worse over time. It can cause symptoms including slowed movements, tremors,and balance problems. Michael J. Fox has had the disease for over 3 decades and has been open about his battle over the years.
