Tammy Slaton is ready to celebrate a milestone in her weight-loss journey.
In a sneak peek of the Tuesday, October 15, episode of 1000-Lb. Sisters, Tammy heads to an appointment in hopes of getting a positive update from her bariatric surgeon, Dr. Eric Smith.
“At my rock bottom, I was weighing about 725 pounds,” Tammy, 37, shared in a preview obtained by People. “The last time I saw Dr. Smith was about nine months ago and I was around 420 pounds. He told me I had to lose 100 pounds before my next appointment. I’m extremely nervous.”
With the support of her siblings Amy, Amanda, Misty and Chris, Tammy steps on the scale and finds out she weighs 303.8 pounds.
Dr. Smith called the results “unbelievable” before Tammy shared just how excited she was to hear some more good news.
“I surpassed Dr. Smith’s goal, my goal, all the goals!” she said in a confessional interview. “I’m so ready for skin removal!”
For six seasons, Tammy and her younger sister Amy, 36, have been documenting their lives on 1000-Lb. Sisters. The TLC series, which premiered in 2020, centers on their weight-loss journeys as well as their unbreakable bond.
In February 2022, Tammy enrolled in an Ohio-based rehab facility to help her lose weight. The reality star reportedly lost 115 pounds after one month.
“I’m glad Tammy is finally getting the help she needs,” Amy told People at the time. “I just wanted the best for all my siblings.”
Tammy’s brother Chris added, “I’m overjoyed that she’s ready to get on this train and start rolling down the tracks.”
Despite making progress in her health journey, the reality star still has some insecurities about how she looks and feels.
In season 6, which kicked off on October 8, Tammy is expected to open up about the lack of confidence she faces with her body. She will contemplate removing excess skin with Dr. Smith’s approval.
“Amy’s got thinner and she’s comfortable with her own body,” she said in the season 6 trailer. “But I don’t feel that way because of my excess skin.”
Outside of the show, Tammy continues to update fans via social media on her progress by sharing uplifting quotes, recipes and other tools.
“Here, you’ll find motivation, inspiration, and the tips that have helped me grow into the woman I know I’m meant to be,” she wrote via Instagram on September 19. “Whether you’re on your own transformation journey or just looking for a positive space, I’m excited to have you here. Let’s keep pushing forward together!”
Watch Tammy’s story unfold when 1000-Lb. Sisters airs on TLC Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
