A Modern Family reunion is looking more possible by the day with both Sofia Vergara and Julie Bowen already on board.

“I have said, like anytime I get asked any questions about Modern Family reunions, movies, specials. I’m like, ‘Yes, where can I sign up?’” Bowen, 54, exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting her partnership with Hyundai for Teen Driver Safety week to help empower parents and teens to feel confident when driving.

“I would have died on that set happily, just gotten old and drifted off into the great beyond on that set. Happiest, best job ever,” Bowen said. “It was in LA; nothing is in LA, everything about it, the people I was working with, the proximity to my kids. It was just joyful. So hard yes.”

The Emmy-winning actress played Claire Dunphy on the hit ABC sitcom for 11 seasons alongside Vergara, 52, who played Gloria Delgado-Pritchett.

From the beginning, fans fell in love with the cast of Modern Family — but they sure have changed over the past 13 years. When the series debuted, many of the cast members were so young that they ultimately grew up on screen. “There’s definitely one season for me when I hit puberty right when […]

In an interview with Variety, Vergara said she also wants to revisit Modern Family. “I’d die to be on that set,” she said. “It’d be so much fun. A TV movie maybe?”

After Vergara saw Ed O’Neill (who played Jay Pritchett) in Clipped, she told her former castmate, “You look f—ing old.” She also told Variety, “I always joke with him, ‘Ed, don’t die. Because if we do the sequel, it will take some time, and you’re the oldest of us. You can’t be dead!’”

When it comes to getting the rest of the cast to reunite, Bowen teased, “I don’t know. I’m sure. Personally, I think the cast would be on board — I haven’t taken a poll.

She continued, “Really comes down to our show creators, Levitan and Lloyd, how they feel about it. They are the ones who make that ultimate decision. So as much as I like to think that, you know, we are Modern Family, really, the writers are modern family and we are their voices.”

Bowen has made a strong effort to try taking on different roles after her run on Modern Family, most recently by appearing in the horror series Hysteria! earlier this year and the Blumhouse horror film Totally Killer last year.

“The way I can change their perception of what kind of mom — or what kind of actress — I can be is to really change up expectations and defy them,” Bowen previously told Us. “I didn’t really do [slasher Totally Killer and now Hysteria!] on purpose back to back. But I can see how you would come to that conclusion.”

She also noted that she was trying to now do “something different” and that she doesn’t want to play a character like she did in Modern Family again… unless she gets to specifically play Claire Dunphy for a second time.
