The Golden Bachelorette contestant Pascal Ibgui opened up about his experience on the show and his shocking departure.
On the show, Pascal competed with other mature men to win Joan Vassos‘ heart. He made it to the final three before sending himself home after experiencing the Fantasy Suite.
He explained that decision in a new interview. Pascal also shared some of the important lessons that he learned from his tenure on reality TV.

Speaking to People, Pascal explained that he was not resonating with Joan. That taught him an important lesson.
“What I learned is to be more open,” he told the outlet. “What I learned, it has to be the right person. You could give me 55 women, if they’re not my type, they’re not my type, no matter what they do, no matter what they say. If they’re not my type, they’re not my type. I need that spark. I need that sense. I need that smell. I need that touch. And that’s the combination of everything.”
He added that he was “very picky.”
That wasn’t the only lesson Pascal learned from joining Bachelor Nation. He said that being on the show helped him open up and be fragile with his children.
“I never showed them my weakness,” he said. “I’ve always shown them to be strong. And sometimes it’s not the right thing. You got to show them that you could cry and it’s okay to cry. And I felt like that was a sign of weakness before the show. When I saw those guys crying, I said, ‘I guess it’s okay. It’s okay to open up. It’s okay to have feelings.’ And it was interesting.”
The Fantasy Suite episode broke tradition in another key way this year.
