Ravi Cabot-Conyers is playing Wim in the new Disney+ series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew and we caught up with the rising star to learn more about him!
The 13-year-old actor previously voiced the role of Antonio Madrigal in Disney’s Encanto and has been seen in TV shows like The Resident and Tell Me a Story.
Now, Ravi is leading the Lucasfilm project alongside Jude Law and the first two episodes are currently streaming.

- “Bright shorts” was my nickname at basketball camp. Basketball is my obsession. I only started playing two years ago and am proud to have become a really strong shooting guard! My grandma gave me 2 pairs of Bucketsquad basketball shorts for my birthday and I wear them constantly! They are so comfortable, and I love how they stand out. Thus, the nickname!
- My favorite foods are cheese and pizza. But I only like my pizza when it’s “light on the cheese.”
- I’ve only ever performed onstage in school plays — I’ve been a spider sack (yes you read that right!), a crab, a village elder, and a playing card — but during the pandemic I really got into reading and performing Shakespeare with my Mom and during Skeleton Crew I became obsessed with the idea of a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Jude Law as Oberon and me as Puck. I’m willing that to happen! I swear, it must happen!
- Speaking of Shakespeare, I was cast in Sam Gold’s Broadway production of Macbeth —- but it was at the exact time I was set to do Skeleton Crew so I couldn’t accept!! Like, what are the chances????!!! An actor’s dream/nightmare scenario! I really hope I get to work with Sam someday, and would love to be cast in another play.
- Both my sister and Dad are fine artists and I look at them for inspiration when I draw. They are just so good.

- I’m a self-taught animator and editor and I love the programs procreate, procreate dreams and premier pro.
- My Poppy was a professional trumpet player and conductor who worked with people like Louis Armstrong, Tony Bennett and about a zillion other jazz greats so he taught me the names and instruments of every big band player while I was still a toddler. I was obsessed with Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, and Mildred Bailey by the time I was 3.
- When I was born my hair was super long, super black, and super straight! Both my parents have curly hair, so they were like, what??? It started to get wavy and curly and brown when I was around 5 months old and now it’s just a mix of everything!
- I don’t love having bad dreams —but I don’t mind them either. It’s weird, but they are usually action-packed, and at least something exciting is happening when I’m asleep.
- I love all-things Disney and going to Disneyland with my friends and castmates, but I am terrified of rollercoasters. Well, The Cars one I can sort of handle. But otherwise, I’ll just “nope out” and eat a grilled cheese while they ride 😄
