The 10 Most Anticipated HGTV Shows Returning in 2025

HGTV has a knack for producing countless addictive home renovation series. The HGTV network has certainly left its mark on the industry with its entertaining shows about home designing, renovation budgets, and tips on how to choose the right homes. And with many shows featuring a husband-wife duo, fans have grown to love the wide range of storylines, including within the HGTV series.

However, now that 2024 has ended, so have many of the HGTV shows. While some shows were canceled, many of the series are not over for good though. From popular shows like Rock the Block and Home Town to newer series like Fix My Frankenhouse, many series are in the process of being renewed and here are the series that are most anticipated to return this year in 2025.

‘Rock the Block’

In Rock the Block, several designers choose a house that they’ll revamp. The designers compete against each other, renovating houses in the same area, hoping to win the top prize. For the first time ever, Season 5 released 7 episodes that contained several returning stars from past seasons. Twins Lyndsay Lamb and Leslie Davis from Unsellable Houses were armed with a budget of $250,000.

They were tasked with renovating waterfront homes in Treasure Island, Florida. The stars had six weeks to accomplish their task and, ultimately, the twins won the bragging rights and a donation to No Kid Hungry in their names. Rock the Block is currently roaring up for another season as HGTV announced in Spring 2025, that Season 6 will air with network personalities Alison Victoria and Jonathan Knight, along with host Ty Pennington.

‘Home Town’

In Home Town, another wife-husband, duo, Erin and Ben Napier, renovate houses in their hometown in Mississippi. Their goal is to help first-time home buyers, grandparents, and young families settle into a home that they’ll love. The show rapidly became a hit on the network by highlighting the couples’ unique renovations of historic homes in Laurel, Mississippi.

Erin focuses on graphic design and styling. Meanwhile, Ben focuses on woodworking and building. They do their best to preserve the homes and keep its distinct character intact, while adding some affordable modern touches. Together, they create the ultimate duo for this renovation series. Currently, Season 9 is scheduled to officially air in January 2025.

The husband-wife duo, Denese and Mike Butler, come together to take on Frankenstein-like home projects. These homes are generally older and have warped over the years. From mislaid stairs to wonky layouts with maze-like halls, this Boston couple on Fix my Frankenhouse has seen it all. Denese collaborates with clients to develop a style and design they’d like.

In October 2024, duo Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt confirmed they’d return for the sixth season of the popular HGTV show. In 100 Day Dream Home, Mika acts as a realtor and Brian serves as a developer. Together they create and build homes from the ground up in just 100 days.

In Season 5, the couple renovated a house for a Black Hawk helicopter pilot and another home for an engaged couple who wanted their abode complete just in time for them to cross the threshold. They also helped an older woman accomplish her vision board goals by creating her dream farm house. The couple continuously goes above and beyond. While there’s no official release date yet for Season 6, it’s suspected the newest season will air this year.

‘Down Home Fab’

Like a few of the other shows mentioned, there’s no official release date for Down Home Fab Season 3. However, in October 2024, the HGTV network announced the casting of Season 3, which means the chances of the season airing this year are pretty high. In this show, married couple Chelsea and Cole DeBoer work on their designing skills while raising a family with four children.

In the past seasons, Chelsea and Cole from Teen Mom 3 worked together to convert homes for their clients in Sioux Fall, South Dakota. Cole is the project manager and a jack-of-all trades. Chelsea focuses on design plans and creating bold visions that align with their customers’ ideas. The couple also showcases some of their married life on a Midwestern Farm, making the series a great family and renovation show.

Married to Real Estate also doesn’t have an official release date. However, Mike Jackson revealed Season 4 was being filmed in the Summer 2024. As a result, it’s safe to assume the latest season will air sometime in 2025. In this show, Mike and Egypt Sherrod work together to help clients find their dream homes while also offering stellar renovations.

This duo is also married, so fans get to see some of their home life and how they manage their business with a full schedule. Their overall goal, though, is to get clients into their dream home that they otherwise believed they couldn’t afford. With strict budgeting and their combined expertise, this show teaches fans all about smart purchases.

After filming The Scariest House in America in June 2024, the host and comedic actress, Retta, revealed that The Ugliest House In America Season 6 was “in the works.” The Ugliest House In America follows Retta as she tours some of the “ugliest” properties in the country. The country is split into four regions and each region has four homes to choose from.

The criteria are simple. Finalists are selected based on ugly appearance and poor functionality and the winner receives $150,000 to go toward renovations. Unfortunately, there’s no exact release date for Season 6. However, the last two seasons were released in January, so fans might see the show returning soon this month.
