“This is total BS. Sorry. The movie is finished and coming out soon. Don’t believe anything you read on social media these days,” Paul wrote in a quote tweet.

Replying to a fan, the director noted, “The movie is awesome, and Blake and Anna turn in amazing performances. I can’t wait for you all to see it. Stay tuned for more details. Simple Favor 2 is coming soon! 🍸🍸🍸”

The original thread cited reasons the movie is being shelved cited a continued rumored feud between the film’s leads Blake and Anna, Blake allegedly refusing to promote it, how to promote it without her amid her public lawsuit with Justin Baldoni, and more.

If you missed it, after Blake came forward with her allegations against her It Ends With Us co-star and director, Paul was one of the many celebs to stand up for her.

A Simple Favor 2 is set to skip a theatrical release and debut on Prime Video instead.
