Alicia Keys is being honored!
The 44-year-old “Girl on Fire” singer was honored with the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award at the 2025 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 2) at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
After being introduced by longtime friend Queen Latifah, Alicia was escorted on stage by her 10-year-old song Genesis.
Keep reading to find out more…In her acceptance speech, Alicia took a moment to defend diversity initiatives after President Donald Trump issued a series of executive orders aimed at dismantling diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs across the federal government.
“This is not the time to shut down the diversity of voices,” Alicia said as the audience cheered and applauded. “We’ve seen on this stage talented, hardworking people from different backgrounds with different points of view, and it changes the game. DEI is not a threat, it’s a gift.”
