Victor Webster is just like Us — he’s ready for Chad and Hannah to go on a date following their palpable chemistry in the Hannah Swensen Mystery movie franchise.

“Chad is very much by the book,” Webster, 51, exclusively told Us Weekly of his Hannah Swensen Mystery character, prosecuting attorney Chad Norton.

The actor explained that when Chad first met baker and amateur sleuth Hannah Swensen (Alison Sweeney) during 2024’s One Bad Apple: A Hannah Swensen Mystery, he kept it “professional” because he was working a case.

During Webster’s second film in the Hallmark Mystery franchise, 2024’s A Sprinkle of Deceit: A Hannah Swensen Mystery, Chad began to form a personal and professional relationship with Hannah. The pair even exchanged numbers, and he revealed he wanted to ask her out to dinner sometime.

“She just has a magnetism to solving these cases and Chad starts to see her value,” Webster told Us of how the character’s dynamic changed in that film. “I think her charm starts to really work on him as far as, you know, a kind, helpful, funny, outgoing person.”

When it comes to the newest installment, Reality Bites: A Hannah Swensen Mystery, which premieres on Thursday, February 6, the actor teased that their romance blossoms even further.

“He is understanding that she could be a real, valuable asset. He likes having her around. He likes her energy,” Webster shared. “I think that deep down inside, he may not admit it right at this point, but he might have a little crush on her.”

In Reality Bites, Chad realizes that he has the “best of both worlds,” according to Webster because Hannah’s desire to help crack cases (when she’s not baking at The Cookie Jar) is what both he and the town needs.

“It helps him professionally, but it also helps him personally and who knows where that could lead,” Webster teased. “He’s smitten with her professionally and possibly personally. Nothing wrong with having somebody like that around.”

The actor noted that while Chad does ask Hannah out — after they team up with dentist Norman (Gabriel Hogan) and Hannah’s family to track down a killer — fans will have to wait and see if the dinner happens.

“I’m tired of waiting for it. I wanna get to dinner,” Webster told Us with a laugh, revealing that he “sure hopes” the pair take the next step as the franchise moves forward. He added, “I would imagine it [will happen]. We have to at some point for sure.”

Webster played coy about whether another Hannah Swensen Mystery is already in the works, but joked, “There are so many different types of baked goods to explore.”

“[There are] so many of these different stories and we need to see what happens between Hannah and Chad,” he teased. “So I think if the fans want it, there’s a good chance that maybe we can make it happen.”

For now, viewers can tune in for Reality Bites for an all-new crime and case. In the movie, Hannah’s favorite reality baking show takes over The Cookie Jar and she learns firsthand what show business is all about.

Amid all the mayhem of lending her bakery to the TV crew, the producer is found dead inside the local eatery. Hannah must team up with her longtime friend Norman to figure out who killed the man and if it’s somehow connected to Chad’s upcoming trial.

“There’s a lot of comedy in a murder mystery. I guess I feel weird saying that [when] somebody [is] getting murdered. But there’s a lot of comedy,” Webster told Us of the latest project. “I love that aspect of it. I love bantering with Alison. There’s also the whole family dynamic.”

He added that Hogan’s return as Norman brought “a lot of good humor back into the script.”

Webster insisted that even with the element of murder, each Hannah Swensen Mystery is a must watch for every generation of Hallmark fans.

“If you’re sitting here watching this Hannah Swensen movie, you’re gonna laugh, you’re gonna be intrigued, you’re gonna be hungry for treats and wanna go in the kitchen and bake cookies,” he said with a laugh. “It’s just a really good fun movie that the entire family can watch together.”

Reality Bites: A Hannah Swensen Mystery premieres on Hallmark Mystery Thursday, February 6, at 8 p.m. ET.
