Eric Stonestreet has signed on to the Dexter universe.
The 53-year-old Modern Family star has been confirmed to join the cast of the upcoming Showtime series, Dexter: Resurrection.
Eric‘s character is a suspected serial killer from the Midwest named Al, who is set to appear in four episodes, according to Deadline.

Michael C. Hall, who played the titular role in the original show, will be reprising his character in Dexter: Resurrection.
Krysten Ritter, Peter Dinklage, Neil Patrick Harris, Uma Thurman, David Zayas, James Remar, Jack Alcott, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, and Emilia Suarez will also be a part of the cast.
Dexter: Resurrection will be a follow-up to Dexter: New Blood, which was a 2021 miniseries that was a continuation of the original Dexter. Meanwhile, the prequel series, Dexter: Original Sin is currently airing on Paramount+.
