David Dastmalchian to Guest Star in ‘Dexter: Resurrection’

David Dastmalchian is set to guest star on Showtime’s “Dexter: Resurrection,” which began production in January and is slated to premiere this summer on Paramount+.

The actor, whose best known for his roles in Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” and “The Dark Knight,” will portray a character named Gareth. Specific details about the role were not disclosed.

Dastmalchian’s other credits include “The Suicide Squad,” “Dune: Part One,” “The Last Voyage of the Demeter” and “Late Night with the Devil.” He’ll be seen next in Apple TV+’s “Murderbot” series premiering this May, and “Life of Chuck” debuting in June.

Dastmalchian is repped by Atlas Artists, Persona PR and attorney Duncan Hedges.

Michael C. Hall returns as Dexter Morgan, the serial killer who keeps to a rigid code of only killing other serial killers. The series picks up from the 2021 Showtime miniseries “Dexter: New Blood” and continues the story that began with the original 2006-2013 series “Dexter.”

Starring alongside Hall are Uma Thurman as Charley, David Zayas as Detective Angel Batista, Jack Alcott as Dexter’s son Harrison Morgan, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Blessing Kamara, Kadia Saraf as Detective Claudette Wallace, Dominic Fumusa as Detective Melvin Oliva, Emilia Suárez as Elsa Rivera, with James Remar as Dexter’s father Harry Morgan and Peter Dinklage as Leon Prater.

In addition to Dastmalchian, other guest stars include Neil Patrick Harris, Krysten Ritter and Eric Stonestreet as Lowell, Mia and Al, respectively.

“Dexter: Resurrection” is executive produced by Hall, showrunner Clyde Phillips, Scott Reynolds (“Jessica Jones”), Tony Hernandez (“Emily in Paris”) and Lilly Burns (“Russian Doll”) and produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios.

Marcos Siega (“Dexter: New Blood”), who serves as producing director, will direct six episodes for the series, while Monica Raymund (“Dexter: Original Sin”) is set to direct four. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

The casting announcement comes on the heels of the finale of “Dexter: Original Sin” in February, which scored 2.68 million global viewers to become the second most streamed episode of the season. Overall, it delivered over 15 million owned engagements across social during the season.
