The Witcher fans, heads up, while we wait for Season 4 of the series that debuts Liam Hemsworth as the new Geralt, the wheels on fifth and final season are swiftly rolling. Fans were very shocked when the news of Henry Cavill leaving the character behind broke as he was always synonymous with the character, for fans of the franchise. Nonetheless, Hemsworth does look the part as seen in previous set images and the audience is curious to see his turn as the fan favorite character.

As per a new report by Redanian Intelligence, the filming of the fifth and final season of the series has begun in an unexpected location, Cape Town, South Africa. Per the report, part of the show will be shot in Cape Town before returning to London. Furthermore, Hemsworth arrived in England last week and will meet the others this week.

What Do We Know About ‘The Witcher’ Season 4?

The Witcher Season 3 was mainly criticized for deviating from the books, so fans expect to see more faithful representation in Season 4. Producer Tomek Baginski previously assured fans the upcoming season will be more “lore accurate. It’s very close to what was set out in the books and I think this change will be quite flawless.” Speaking of his turn as Geralt, Hemsworth previously told Collider,

“For me, it felt like coming in and starting high school when everyone else is already friends and has relationships with each other and has been there since the beginning. At times you kind of feel like an outsider, and it’s nothing like any of the cast or crew has treated me in that way. Everyone has been nothing but welcoming and extremely aware of what the situation is.”

Also returning for the next season are Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Freya Allan as Princess Ciri, Joey Batey as Jaskier, Bart Edwards as Emhyr van Emreis, and Mahesh Jadu as Vilgefortz of Roggeveen along with many new faces.

Currently, no release date for season 4 has been announced. Meanwhile all seasons of The Witcher is streaming on Netflix in the U.S. Stay tuned to Collider for more such updates.
