Love Is Blind season 8 has arguably not been the best of the series, but the reunion episode always brings the most excitement. As usual, fans got to witness conflicts, resolutions, and updates, along with the receipts for all the tea spilled.
There were some interesting revelations throughout the over an hour-long reunion special, many of which were shocking. One involves two past cast members from two different editions of the show. Another has to do with accusations of ghosting and the person reaching out to the worst possible past cast member for advice. While Love Is Blind 8 ended with only one couple actually getting married, there was a lot to talk about that has happened in the year since filming ended.

Daniel Got a Tattoo of Taylor
Fans were happy to see that Daniel Hastings and Taylor Haag are still married and happier than ever. Despite going through challenges this last year, including Daniel’s mother battling an illness, they have supported one another and even bought their first house. But the news that had fans’ mouths agape was when Daniel revealed that he got a tattoo to honor Taylor. It sounded sweet, noting that he had her eyes on his chest. When co-host Vanessa Lachey insisted he show it, however, it creeped some viewers out.
The tattoo features Taylor’s eyes in a rectangular border, which he noted was lifted right from a photo he took of her. While sweet, some fans find it unsettling, noting that Taylor would be looking at herself when getting intimate with him. The sweet gesture proves the couple is in it for the long-haul, though. And Daniel mentioned that it’s an homage to the fact that her eyes and how they crinkle when she smiles was one of the first things he noticed about her at their reveal.

Ben Ghosted Sara and Got Advice From an Unlikely Person
Sara Carton said no at the altar, believing that Ben Mezzenga simply didn’t give any thought to the values that she holds near and dear to her heart. But she admitted that the couple did continue to date after the show, which surprised fans, since when he suggested it at the altar, she said “we’ll see” in a way that indicated she had no interest. She claims that they were staying together at his place, and she was to go to Nashville for a few months to finish a project for work. The plan was for him to visit her and stay for a few weeks, up to a month, since he works remotely. After she left, she noticed he removed her from Find My Friends, and she didn’t hear from him. The next time she heard from him, he called her to suggest they rehearse before the reunion.
Ben’s understanding of the situation was very different, claiming that he felt like they ended things on their last date before she left. Shockingly, he reached out to season six cast member Jimmy Presnell for advice, who told him that they would be asking him about his values at the reunion, and he should contact Sara to discuss it so they were on the same page. For her part, Sara claims that after learning more about Ben since the show ended, she realized she didn’t know him at all.

Joey Reached Out to Madison
Joey Leveille and Monica Danús were a fan-favorite couple, but in hindsight, they came across as more like friends. Monica said no at the altar and Joey agreed that he wasn’t ready and didn’t think they were there. He said at the reunion that they were stuck in the “friend zone.” Monica, however, mentions that Joey never made any effort to move beyond that, and suggested that, looking back, she realize he wasn’t into her. He claims a lot of it stemmed from her sister’s treatment of him in one of the worst family moments on Love Is Blind. She adds that Madison Errichiello told her Joey messaged her after the pre-wedding party where everyone got together.
Joey shockingly admitted to doing so, complimenting her pink hair and apologizing that they didn’t get to talk more. Joey and Madison had apparently connected in the pods as well, but their conversations never really got to the level of depth they needed to, and they didn’t pursue a relationship. He claims he reached out to her just to be friendly, suggesting he reached out to others as well. But there was also a “he said, she said” with Monica suggesting he told her Madison was flirting with him at a bar on another occasion, which he denied ever saying, and she denied ever doing.

Dave Finally Admitted He Was Wrong
The one person fans really wanted to hear from was Dave Bettenburg, who was deemed the season’s unlikely villain. After learning that Lauren O’Brien had hooked up with a guy as soon as a week before going on the show, he was hurt. But even more so when it turned out that he and many of his friends knew the guy, or at least of him, since they ran in the same circles. Dave’s mysterious sister, from whom he takes counsel, also knew of him. Everything they were telling him led Dave to have reservations about Lauren, not understanding how she could have a casual hook-up one week and say she wanted to be married the next. She insisted it was nothing more than a casual “situationship” and there was no dating between them. But Dave chose to believe his friends.
Fans believed that Dave needed to apologize to Lauren at the Love Is Blind 8 reunion, and that he did. Dave shockingly admitted he was wrong. Now he sees that the guy, who has been posting about the situation and the show on his socials, was not telling the truth and was just in it for clout. He regrets not listening to Lauren and not giving her the opportunity to meet his friends and family to tell her side of the story, which she had asked numerous times to do. He even went so far as to agree with Vanessa that Lauren was “the one that got away,” though Lauren questioned how genuine he was being with this statement. For the record, Vanessa polled everyone to ask if hooking up with someone while single meant a person wasn’t ready for marriage, and it was a universal “no,” finally putting the issue to rest and vindicating Lauren.

Meg and Mason Are No Longer Dating and Madison Brought Weak Receipts
While Meg Fink and Mason Horacek were the couple fans thought might have gotten engaged, that didn’t materialize. The pair confirmed at a pre-wedding party in one of the third batch of episodes that they had met after the pods and started dating. They even had an adorable reveal of their own, with Meg wearing the dress she had brought on the show for her reveal had she gotten engaged. But they confirmed that they had since broken up when they realized something was missing from the relationship.
However, they remain great friends. Both confronted Madison, who is shaping up to be one of Love Is Blind’s biggest villains, about her actions in the pods. Mason said he only committed to her because he felt pressured to do so. However, she insisted that she knew he had a stronger connection with Meg as she did with Alex Brown and was giving him the opportunity to end things. Instead, he did the opposite. Meg, however, felt that Madison was manipulative and leading both men on. Madison also turned her attention to Alex, suggesting that he only had mean things to say about his co-cast members when the cameras weren’t rolling. She brought out receipts via text message screenshots on paper she hid under her dress. However, they didn’t really corroborate what she was saying, leading to an anti-climactic moment.

Ad and Ollie Are Getting Married
At the end of the episode, Vanessa announced that they were bringing back a past cast member who had some big news. AD Smith from season six of Love is Blind, one of the best Netflix dating shows ever, appeared at the season seven reunion, which featured many returning cast members in the audience. She alluded to dating someone seriously back then, but didn’t divulge who it was. It was revealed at the reunion that she has been dating Ollie Sutherland from Love Is Blind: UK. The pair had been rumored to be dating after being seen together following their appearances on the upcoming third season of Perfect Match, which does not yet have an official debut date. It’s unclear if they won the show or not, but they clearly struck up a bond.
At the season eight reunion, the couple show a video of Ollie walking AD out onto the beach where he has set up a beautiful arrangement of flowers. He gets down on one knee and proposes to her. The pair celebrate their newly engaged status on the show.
AD had gotten engaged to Clay Gravesande in her season, but he said no at the altar. Ollie, meanwhile, got engaged to Demi Santana Brown in the inaugural season of Love Is Blind: UK, but she decided that while he was a good man, he was not her man and said no at the altar. Both AD and Ollie, however, credit Love Is Blind with helping them dive into deeper conversations on Perfect Match and beyond, and developing the emotional bond that kept their relationship strong and that they hope to continue into their marriage.
