Jonathan Majors Is Sentenced to Domestic Violence Treatment Program

Jonathan Majors has been sentenced to a one-year domestic violence treatment program following his December 2023 guilty verdict of assault in the third degree and harassment.

The former Marvel actor was legally found guilty of striking ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. Majors was found not guilty of one count of assault in the third degree and not guilty of aggravated assault in the second degree. He faced up to a year in jail based on the charges.

The “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” star was arrested March 25 on charges of assault, strangulation, and harassment. Jabbari, who met Majors on set of the MCU feature, was hospitalized with “minor injuries to her head and neck” allegedly as a result of an incident with Majors. She was granted a full temporary order of protection ahead of the slated May 9 court date; the trial was later pushed back to November.

Later accusations surfaced of toxic on-set behavior of “Magazine Dreams” and a British filing came against Majors on multiple charges of assault stemming from various other accusers.

Manhattan Judge Michael Gaffey sentenced Majors to the treatment program and upheld the permanent order of protection against any contact whatsoever with Jabbari. If Majors does not complete the therapy program, he could face six months in jail. Any violation of the sentencing terms including contact with Jabbari could result in Majors being put behind bars for up to 364 days, as Deadline reported.

Before sentencing, Jabbari read out a victim impact statement, saying of Majors, “He will do this again. This is a man who thinks he is above the law.” Jabbari has additionally filed a defamation lawsuit against Majors. The lawsuit states (via Deadline) that Majors has “called her a liar at every turn and very specifically claimed that he has never put his hands on a woman, with the goal of convincing the world that Grace is not a victim of domestic abuse but instead a crazy liar who should be treated as such.”

Majors told ABC News in January 2024 that he was in shock to be found guilty “based off the evidence” and that he “wish[ed] to God I knew” how Jabbari’s injuries were inflicted.
