Roger Federer Hosts Tennis Clinic During UNIQLO’s Around The World Event Following Retirement | Roger Federer | Just Jared: Celebrity News and Gossip

Roger Federer still has game!

The 41-year-old recently retired tennis star stepped out for a fun tennis clinic with a group of kids during UNIQLO’s Around The World Event at MoMA PS1 on Wednesday (August 2) in New York City.

Roger hosted the event to benefit juniors from New York’s Kings County Tennis League, an organization supporting underserved NYC communities through tennis.

During the session, Roger got really impressed with one young player who served a powerful ace. “That would beat me!” he told them.

Following the clinic, Roger stayed on to answer a ton of questions from the kids and also pose for pictures with them.

In a new interview with the New York Times, Roger reflected on how retirement was treating him so far.

“Life without the game, and life without the fans, and life without the schedule that has dominated my life for 25 years has definitely been something I didn’t know how I would take,” he admitted. “For the longest time I tried to come back and give it one more shot and leave the game healthy, but it was not doable.”

Roger then said that as his professional game play withered away, “I was relieved, I think, and happy to retire. It ended in the most perfect way at the Laver Cup.”
