Barry Keoghan has nothing but praise for girlfriend Sabrina Carpenter amid her Grammy Award nominations.

“I’m really, really happy for her. I gotta get on the phone soon. Don’t put me on the spot, lads,” Keoghan, 32, said during an appearance on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show With Julia Cunningham on Friday, November 8, while promoting his new movie, Bird.

“I don’t know anyone who works as hard, you know?” he said. “I’m in awe of her, watching her work and her [commitment] and the standards that she sets, especially being on that [‘Please Please Please’] music video. She knows the vision, she knows what she wants, and it’s, yeah…”

The nominations for the 67th annual Grammy Awards were announced Friday morning, with Carpenter, 25, nabbing an impressive seven nods, including Best New Artist, Album of the Year and Song of the Year.

This isn’t the first time in recent days that Keoghan has made comments about Carpenter on a podcast.

Earlier this week, the Saltburn star gushed about the former Disney actress during an appearance on “The Louis Theroux Podcast” after host Louis Theroux asked about his bond with Carpenter.

“Oh, I knew you’d do this. Listen, all I’m going to say is I’m incredibly blessed. [She’s] such a strong, independent lady who’s massively talented and yeah, [she’s] pretty special. Louis, you got me!” he said. “I was in ‘Please Please Please.’ Great video. Great music.”

Keoghan and Carpenter have kept their relationship relatively low-key since they were first romantically connected in December 2023. They continued to fuel dating rumors by attending several of the same public events, including a W Magazine Grammys afterparty in February and the Vanity Fair Oscars party in March.

That same month, a source exclusively confirmed to Us Weekly that the pair became exclusive in January.

“They really took things slow at first, but the relationship is going strong,” the insider shared. “They are both very casual people and enjoy being low-key in their downtime. They aren’t putting too much pressure on things, and Sabrina loves that Barry understands she is extremely busy with her work commitments right now.”

In June, Keoghan appeared in Carpenter’s music video for her Grammy-nominated track, “Please Please Please.” The tune served as the second single from Carpenter’s latest album Short n’ Sweet, which features many songs rumored to be about her and Keoghan’s romance.

Carpenter told CBS Sunday Morning last month that she cast Keoghan because of his acting abilities.

“I, genuinely — like, a not-even-biased opinion — I was like, ‘Who’s the greatest actor that I can find for this music video?’” she shared. “And he was next to me in a chair. And he was so excited about it!”

SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show With Julia Cunningham airs Monday through Friday at 2 p.m. ET on Radio Andy (Ch. 102), and anytime on the SiriusXM app.
