Music from NSYNC is featured in the Broadway musical & Juliet and band member JC Chasez visited the show this week!
The 48-year-old pop star surprised the audience at the performance by getting on stage after the show and treating them to an encore on Thursday night (November 21) at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre in New York City.
& Juliet is a multi-generational story of self-discovery, empowerment and love, imagining what would happen next if Juliet hadn’t ended it all over Romeo, and got a second chance at life and love – on her terms. The musical uses songs from Max Martin‘s catalog, including “Since U Been Gone,” “Roar,” “Baby One More Time,” “Larger Than Life,” “That’s The Way It Is,” “Can’t Stop the Feeling,” and many more.
While NSYNC‘s song “It’s Gonna Be Me” is featured in the musical, JC decided to perform “Tearin’ Up My Heart.”
“I had one issue with the show. One issue with the show. This is actually my first time singing on a Broadway stage when I sang with you in the beginning, and I have the feeling I want to do it again,” JC told the audience, according to People.
JC said he wanted to “sing a song that Max wrote that didn’t make the play that I think might’ve, should’ve made the play. Let’s go!”
NSYNC‘s Joey Fatone is joining the cast of the musical in the role of Lance beginning on January 21.
