Katie Maloney is reacting to the news of Vanderpump Rules getting an all new cast.
The 37-year-old reality star was one of the original cast members who was there from the very beginning when it first premiered in 2013.
Now, after 11 seasons, the cast is completely changing for the show’s 12th season, and Katie shared her thoughts on the latest episode of her podcast Disrespectfully. She also addressed online rumors that the cast was asking for significant pay raises for a 12th season.

“I didn’t plan on returning,” Katie revealed. “I had made a decision months ago, after this past season. I mean, I just needed to move on with my life, and this was before we knew the show was going to be put on pause.”
“I had talked to our producers about it, and I had told them my decision,” she continued. “I felt, personally, ready to move on from the show. I felt like my life and where I was at was moving in a different direction. Mentally, physically, spiritually, physically, I was prepared to move on from the show. I think it had been a long, through many seasons of my life, it was there. I had lived many lives, I went through so much on that show. I just got to a point where I don’t know that I can live and grow and be the version of myself I want to be on the show any longer.”
She confirmed the group on the show doesn’t really hang out anymore, aside from specific people here and there, but overall, they’ve gone their separate ways for the most part.
Katie even hit back at rumors that the show was being rebooted because the original cast members were seeking huge pay raises to return.
“It wasn’t because people were demanding tons of money or scheduling,” she said with a bit of a laugh. “We were not, no one was negotiating any of that. That had not even been discussed or brought up, or no one was in any rooms negotiating anything. Money was of no subjects. So, sorry to break it to anyone that’s out there trying to make that a thing. It’s just not. I think the main thing was just that they couldn’t make a show about these folks anymore.”
She also revealed that she’s only talked to Ariana Madix about the show ending, who Katie said had similar feelings to her about moving on, and her ex Tom Schwartz.
“I’ve talked to Ariana and I talked to Tom Schwartz, but that’s it,” she said. “I mean, Ariana and I have very, very similar thoughts and feelings. Tom, I don’t want to speak for him, but I think, while he also kind of knew this was coming and all that, he’s still, like, in a [state] of suspended disbelief.”

The day before the VPR news was announced, Tom and Tom Sandoval revealed their restaurant/bar Schwartz & Sandy’s will be closing at the end of the year.
Tom Schwartz and a few other VPR cast members will still be seen back on Bravo soon, on another show!
