It’s going to take more than some threatening words to get “Severance” spoilers out of Adam Scott. Trust Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell, they’ve tried. And on Tuesday’s episode of “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” Scott is bringing the receipts.
In a clip from the episode released early Tuesday morning, Clarkson wonders how often Scott faces requests for spoilers from his friends about the hit Apple TV+ series, and apparently, the answer is quite often. According to Scott, Shepard and Bell in particular left “borderline abusive” messages for him ahead of season 2.
Naturally, Clarkson wanted to hear them in full, so they played a few.
“All right, you son of a bitch, Bell and I just sat here, on the edge of our seat, waiting to find out what happens when you guys come to,” Shepard can be heard saying, as Bell chimes in “You losers!”
“Oh, buddy, are we pissed that this episode just ended,” Shepard adds.
In a second one, Bell’s husband even goes so far as to make up a wild story about his wife and leave Scott on a cliffhanger himself.
“Quick update you’d probably find funny; My wife just ran through a plate glass window off the second story of our home and was rushed to the hospital,” Shepard “reveals” menacingly. “You probably want to know if she’s still alive. I will tell you next week!”
Don’t worry, Bell’s fine. But, in one last message aired on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” Shepard gets blunt about Scott needing to be back at work.
“If you’re listening to this message and you’re not on set, f— you,” he says.
You also shouldn’t worry about how Scott handles the harassment from the duo though. He gives as good and as hostile as he gets, proving so by bringing one of his own voice notes that he sent in response.
“Dax, just in response to your unbelievably ridiculous and insulting audio message, not only am I not filming right now, I’m sitting in a jacuzzi, relaxing,” Scott taunts back. “So, so far — so far away from even being close to filming. So I guess what I’m trying to say is, again, eat s—.”
You can hear the messages themselves in the video above.
