Diane Dal-pra – BOOOOOOOM! – CREATE * INSPIRE * COMMUNITY * ART * DESIGN * MUSIC * FILM * PHOTO * PROJECTS

A selection of enticing yet disquieting paintings by French artist Diane Dal-pra (previously featured here). Currently on display with Massimo de Carlo at Mostyn gallery in Wales, Dal-pra’s latest exhibition explores the duality of possessions and how the objects we own can both consume and comfort us. While objects may provide a sense of reassurance, their permanence can also lead to more precarious attachments and superstitions. Dal-pra’s body of work focuses on our daily life rituals, relationships, obsessions, and sensations as bodies appear enmeshed in the broader psychological ambiguity of the intimate roles certain items play in our lives and imaginations.

See more images below or on display at Mostyn until October 7.
